President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic received today letters of credence from the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Joost Reintjes, to whom he wished a welcome and a successful tenure in Belgrade.
President Vucic expressed his belief that there was significant room for the promotion of political dialogue, as well as the intensification of all forms of cooperation between Serbia and the Netherlands.

President Vucic and Ambassador Reintjes stated the interest of both sides in improving economic cooperation. They expressed hope that large multinational companies from the Netherlands would observe an excellent investment climate in Serbia and decide to do business in our country. Ambassador Reintjes expressed his belief that the decision of the Dutch airline KLM to introduce a direct flight, along with the existing Air Serbia flight, would also contribute to closer contacts.

President Vucic thanked the Netherlands for the support to Serbia in fulfilling the criteria required for joining the European Union, emphasizing that our country was undertaking the necessary reforms and that it would accelerate them in the area of the rule of law. He stressed that our country had accepted the new methodology of accession negotiations, expressing hope that we would be able to open certain clusters soon.

Speaking about regional issues, President Vucic underlined in particular that it was of key interest for Serbia to preserve stability in the region and the orientation of the Western Balkans towards the most intensive mutual cooperation.
