The Saint Sava Ball was filled with a rich cultural and artistic program where the Folcloric Assemble "Tamo daleko" from Rotterdam, the "Ambassador" orchestra, and numerous singers led by the special guest singer Z. Brunclik took part.

A part of the funds from the sold tickets will be donated for the costs of the Project of making and placing 29 marble crosses at the Memorial to Serbian soldiers killed in the Great War in Garderen, the Netherlands.

On Sunday, January 29, 2023, in the SOC in Halderen (Nijmegen) a solemn liturgy was served with the presentation of a recital by the youngest members of the Serbian Parish School.

St. Sava Day was also marked by the St. Sava Academy organized by SOC "Holy Trinity" in Rotterdam. After the holy liturgy, the sermon and the cutting of the cake, a ceremony was held, which was attended by D. Vukić, First Counselor and B. Grbić, Consul Cousellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia. Bearing in mind that "Saint Sava" is commemorated and celebrated as the Protector of Serbian Schools, the program was largely devoted to children's recitations and singing of native songs by students of the Serbian supplementary school from Rotterdam. Representatives of the Folcloric Assemble "Tamo Daleko" took part in the rich cultural and artistic program with folclore dances, vocal solists who performed original Serbian songs, violinist Igor Pop Zariev, as well as the Youth Choir of the Holy Trinity Parish.

Priest Vojislav Bilbija addressed the guests with suitable words, emphasizing in his speech the importance of the Spirit of Unity of the Serbian people in the Netherlands.

With an appropriate Recital, the children, led by teacher Mrs. Biljana Krčum, reminded the audience that we are the descendants of Saint Sava, our people are people who present themselves to others through their songs and dances and show them the beauty and roots of our being. The students proudly recited the verses of our great poets dedicated to the First Serbian Educator and ended their performance with the words:

"Holy Sava is the light in the darkness that shines eternally for us,

we must not be sad and alone, he protects us, protects us from Evil!"

Their effort and victory over the porch was rewarded with sweet packets in a bag with the image of Saint Sava prepared for the children by Father Boris Topić.

The Serbian Community in Rotterdam, this year as well, celebrated St. Sava solemnly and with pride in the spirit of Unity.
